Thank god we survived that awful day last night with no sports scheduled. Now we move on to the second half of the baseball season, a second half that could have the Marlins in the postseason for only the third time in its 17th season.

Here is what is on slate for the second half:

The combined winning percentage of these last 71 games for the Marlins is .472. Only 21 out of those 71 games will be against teams over .500 and 10 other games are against .500 teams as of the All-Star break. I know as the second half goes on some teams will improve and others will deterioate especially with the trade deadline approaching.

Another thing to look at is how many times will the Fish be playing versus their NL East foes, so I broke that down as well:

Atlanta-13 games (7-Home, 6-Away)

Philadelphia-12 games (6-Home, 6-Away)

NY Mets-9 games (6-Home, 3-Away)

Washington-9 games (3-Home, 6-Away)

Now I won't sit here and predict game-by-game how many wins will the marlins have but I will tell you how many wins will they need to have to win their division.

Over 87-74 (41-30 in second half): Will win you the division.

Near 83-78 (37-34 in second half): Slight Wild Card hopes.

Under 81-80 (35-36 in second half): Gone fishin'!

Last night a twitter friend of mine (@wade_county) made me aware that the Tampa Bay Rays also have a stadium plan set for 2012. Not that I've been living under a rock, I'm just not a Rays die-hard.

After looking at their blueprint pictures, their stadium is blowing ours out of the water (and yes that roof on Tampa's stadium is retractable)! Maybe their graphic designer is better than ours.

The Rays proposed bay-area stadium in St. Petersburg is set to be $450 million, the Marlins ballpark is set to be worth $525 million. I hope with that extra money we can spice up this stadium and leave a Miami-look to it because right now the original blueprints look pretty dull for a "new stadium" standards.

Any bets on which stadium will be up first? Let's hope the Rays don't rain on our parade come 2012.

ZERO BROWARD COLLEGE PLAYERS SELECTED IN MLB DRAFT

Miami Dade College: 7
Palm Beach CC: 3
Brevard CC: 1
Broward College: ZERO

For those who are keeping score at home, above are the amount of players in the Southern Conference selected in the MLB Draft. As you may notice, Broward College, one of the top teams in the state did not produce a single player in to the Bigs. I find this astonishing, a team that finished 32-14 goes undrafted. I know this team was scrappy and didn't really have a superstar caliber player to rely on, but there has to be someone on the team worth being selected in that draft. That was bogus! This year's team was definitely better all-around than last season.

Something went wrong.

But I don't think it is too late for these players to show their potential. I'll be speaking to Broward's skipper Bob Deutschman to see where these second-year players will go for their Junior-Senior years. If they standout in their new colleges, then there will be light at the end of tunnel and possibly another chance at being drafted in 2010 or 2011.

FOUR OR FIVE POSSIBLE BROWARD PLAYERS COULD BE SELECTED IN TOMORROW'S MLB DRAFT

The MLB First Year Draft starts Wednesday at 6 p.m. and like last year, Broward College players will be patiently waiting, hoping to hear their name called. But unlike these other baseball prodigies, the players at Broward College will have to realistically wait until Day 2 of the draft, possibly even Day 3.

"I think there's a possibility of four or five players being drafted," said Broward Seahawks skipper Bob Deutschman. "But you never know with these things."

Last year, two players were selected, Catcher Alberto “Tito” Espinosa was selected third overall in the fifteenth round by the Kansas City Royals. One round later (Round 16), his teammate Pitcher Chad Rose was chosen twenty-fifth overall by the Colorado Rockies.

If I had to guess who those four or five Broward players were, I would assume they were:

Patrick Donahue, who lead the club with a .361 batting average with 33 RBI's.
Kyle Wilson, who lead the team with ten home runs, batting .339 with 28 RBI's.
Daniel Petibone who hit eight home runs and has a .442 on base percentage.
Jose Mata who has a stifling 1.20 ERA despite the 3-2 record.
Robbie Scott who is 4-2 with 53 strikeouts.

We'll cross our fingers and stay tuned.

MY LAND SHARK STADIUM EXPERIENCE (6/6/09)

The struggling Marlins slugged it out with the San Fransisco Giants this past Saturday, but most importantly I graced the "Sharktank" with my presence. Little did I know, so would mother nature.

It was my first "Super Saturday" and boy did I ever picked the wrong Saturday to go see the Fish. It was 2009 Country Western Night featuring a concert by Country music artist Phil Vassar followed by fireworks. I even had passes to go on the field to watch. No deal.

I hate country music, sorry. In the words of Mike Singletary, "Can't do it."

Although I hate country, the attendance was relatively high and I was once proud of being a Marlins fan again (the attendance last time I went sucked!).

Western Night wasn't the only thing impeding me from having a great night at the ballpark, the game was delayed an hour and a half due to torrential storms. Oh yeah, don't even get me started on these rattle-drum clacker thing-a-mu-jig. Which I had countless nightmares after, hearing that annoying clacking sound.

The 6 p.m. first pitch was moved to 7:30 p.m.

Once the game started Andrew Miller was dealing! I've never seen this side of him. The youngster had a six-pitch first inning, followed by an eight-pitch second and a nine-pitch third. The dude had only pitched 23 pitches through three innings, remarkable!

Meanwhile, on the other side the Marlins bats were making contact that night. Back-to-back doubles by Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla got the Marlins a 2-0 lead through three.

Miller continued to deal, pitching a perfect game (yeah, I know it was early) through four innings. Although he struggled a little in the fifth and gave up two runs, he settled down and silenced all of the Giants bats for the rest of the night.

As the top of the fifth inning ended, the downpours began. And so we hit the covers, and when I mean covers, I mean bed covers. I checked the Doppler on my iPhone and the rain was not going to stop anytime soon so we left early. It wasn't worth getting any wetter over these free tickets.

Luckily the Marlins won 5-4, and the Country Western Night Concert was cancelled due to the rain (Yes!).

All in all the rain didn't damper the Marlins' spirit, but it sure did damper mines.

Oh, and did I mention that it still says "Dolphin Stadium" around there, and all this time I thought this was Land Shark Stadium.

Ever since I was in middle school, sneakers have a passion for me. I can still remember bringing a monthly issue of Eastbay back in those days and having endless discussions on what NBA player was wearing what sneakers on that particular night. So I when I notice thatSneakerpimps was coming to Miami last Saturday I had to show my face in the place.

To make matters better, The Clipse and The Cool Kids were performing.

For those that don't know, Sneakerpimps is a sneakershow. I know that sounds weird but it is

an event to express your sneaker creativity, to witness the uniqueness. It was held at the Moore Building barely North of Downtown Miami.

I'M FINALLY BACK IN THE BLOGGERSPHERE

June is here and summer is right around the corner (I sound like I'm doing a commercial) and I have to admit I have been slacking in the Blog world lately. You can't really blame though, not much goes on at Broward College during the summer. Don't be surprised if I post some non-Broward sports stories or even non-sports stories. Apparently according to my Sun Sentinel Twitter friends today is an important holiday that I forgot to mark on my calendar. It is Sports Cliché Day.

Now I was firing at all cylinders, trying to research everywhere (I’m lying all I did was google it) and I couldn’t find anything on this prestigious holiday, a holiday like none other. I had to give it a 110 percent.

So in honor of Sports Cliché Day, I decided to get my money’s worth and include a sports cliché on all my tweets today.

At the end of the day I had to eliminate all of my mental mistakes and make a list of my top ten sports clichés of all time:

I need to buy a jersey and I don't want to make the same mistake as I did with this Boston Jersey.

I don't know if you have figured this out but I love jerseys. I'm a big aficionado, but what's ironic is that I haven't bought a South Florida sports jersey since 2005!

It was a Miguel Cabrera rookie jersey when he was wearing number 20. Before that it was a David Boston Miami Dolphins Authentic Orange Jersey...huh? (I needed a Fins jersey and I got it for real cheap since he wasn't a common player.)

And to make matters worse, I am staring at my closet now as we speak looking through my jersey collection and I'm sitting here thinking, "what the fuck was I thinking purchasing these jersey". I have more non-sofla jerseys than I have Miami jerseys. I've made some bad decisions in the past.

I guess that is the reason why I haven't bought a jersey from a South Florida team in almost five years. I want to make the right choice.

To me, purchasing a jersey is tough nowadays, especially with athletes switching teams more than they switch hoes. My $150-$300 has to become a commitment, and can you blame me? I practically need to have a superstar on my squad.

(BTW: I despise the replica jerseys with the ironed-on names and numbers. I had a few but I hate it! If I'm going to buy a jersey it's going to be an authentic or a Mitchell & Ness throwback.)

Well, after almost a five-year hiatus, I am now ready to buy a South Florida jersey.

The only teams in sofla that I don't have a jersey from are the Heat and the Panthers. Basketball and Hockey season is over (at least in South Florida) so those two teams can wait, besides I will own a ruby red Dwyane Wade jersey eventually before I die.

So that leaves the Marlins and the Dolphins in the mix.

I might chose both, but If I had to pick one player from the Marlins and Dolphins who would it be?

Your front runner for the Marlins has to be Hanley Ramirez, but how long is Han-Ram going to last in our terrible baseball market. With the way Josh Johnson has been playing, he has to come into consideration as well, but when has a Marlin pitcher remained with the ballclub his whole career? Were dealing with Beinfest here. Other than those two players, no one in the Marlins really excites me enough for me to get their jersey. Wait- I really like that kid Cameron Maybin, he has potential and could be the franchise's next star. Oh yeah, he got sent back to the minors yesterday (shaking my damn head).

As if picking a Marlins jersey seemed hard, picking a jersey for the Dolphins is major dilemma.

As we all know the Dolphins are in the middle of rebuilding the team. Bill Parcells does not like your typical "loud-mouth" superstar that every fan cringes for, he craves for the blue-collared "all work and no play" type of players.

Normally you would go for your typical quarterback, the team leader, but it's a huge risk to get both a Penington jersey or a Henne jersey. Pennington is a veteran on the last year of his contract, while Henne on the other hand hasn't proved anything yet.

My next step would be to look at the typical offensive playmaker. That leads me to Ronnie Brown and Ted Gynn. Brown was recently a big name in the Dolphins trade rumors so how can I commit to him? Scratch Ted Gynn, by the end of the '09-'10 season Mr. Gynn could be a borderline bust along with his family.

Now you have to focus on the defense and look for your sack-master, my search could possibly end here because the Dolphins have some great pass-rushers. Joey Porter seems like a great candidate, key word: "seems". He is 32 years-old, for a linebacker to be successful in this league in his thirties is nearly impossible. And then I'm left with Channing Crowder. Do I really want to spend nearly $300 on a player that isn't even a household name?-No, it's not worth it.

So now, I am lost. I need your help folks, please convince me on what player to chose for both the Marlins and/or the Dolphins. Tell me why would you choose this player.

If don't get any feedback I might just go with a Dan Marino throwback or get a personalized jersey with my name on it!

Were going to start something new here at AAAYYYEEE, personally I am a geek when it comes to jerseys. I appreciate a good classic logo/design when I see one. Sometimes I wish the NBA/MLB/NFL would have more vintage nights in their calander. So in honor of my love for these vintage jerseys/stuff which I can't afford (I wouldn't really wear them, I'd just collect them now), I will honor a jersey every Thursday. We're going to call it THROWBACK THURSDAY (how cliche). And in honor of the NBA Playoffs I'm going to start with a team that's currently still alive in the second round.

What could've been a historic season for the Broward College baseball team has been flushed down the drain - in heartbreak fashion.

After losing game one of the best-of-three series to Palm Beach at home 8-4, the Seahawks had to travel up north and steal one on the road to bring the series back at home.

The game was close, so close that it couldn't be finished in nine innings. It was all knotted up at five and it appeared like no team would budge.

Clutch hitting by the boys in blue gave 7-5 lead in the 12th inning. The Seahawks were only three outs away from moving in to a pivotal do-or-die game 3 back at Broward to decide who would take that last spot to move on to States.

If only it was that easy.

In the bottom half of the 12th PBCC OF DJ Leonard had two runners on when he belted (hat could be the biggest hit of his young career) a three-run walk-off home run to to win the game 8-7 and send Broward College home for good.

Broward had been on a down-spiral ever since they were ranked first in the state at 19-4. Since then they've barely played over-.500 ball with a 12-11 record. Palm Beach has chose the right time to catch fire, they're winners of eight consecutive games. Although Broward was 7-1 in the regular season versus Palm Beach CC, they lost the only two games they ever needed to win against them in the entire season.

For some odd reason, the Seahawks baseball team decided to suit up in last year's jersey. That wouldn't be a problem with any team in any normal season, but this is our first year since the name change (We were Broward Community College) so as you see below, the jerseys say "BCC".

Now the only possible explanation I see for this is that they're possibly playing three games in three days so it might be hard to wash the unis every night. Either way, very strange...

POSSIBILITY OF ENTIRE SPORTS PROGRAM MOVING TO CENTRAL.

So I spoke to Mike Schawe (Lady Seahawks hoops coach) and Robert Starkman (Men's hoops coach), and both have told me that there's a strong possibility that every sports team will be moved to Broward College Central Campus in time for the next season.

Right now both basketball programs re currently located at North Campus in Coconut Creek. Schawe and Starkman both had problems last season with finding locations for practices, both had to move back and forth from north to central. At times both teams were forced to use city gyms to hold practices.

If in fact the Athletic Department does chose to move every team to Central Campus, there has been talks that some renovations will be done to the A. Hugh Adams Gymnasium. No word on how much they're spending and what exactly will be done to the gym. I will keep you posted, more info coming soon.

RUSTY BROWARD TEAM FALLS SHORT TO PALM BEACH IN GAME ONE OF A PLAYOFF SERIES.

It was a long baseball-less week for the Seahawks who finished their regular season schedule much earlier than the other foes in the Southern Conference. The team sure showed some rust as they lost Game 1 of the best-of-three series 8-4 to a scorching Palm Beach team that has won seven in a row. In fact, the last time they lost a game was to Broward in a ten-inning affair on April 10.

Seahawks jumped on board early in the second as catcher Daniel Petibon blasted a solo home run t

o left-center to give the bluebirds a 1-0 lead. Palm Beach wreaked havoc in the third as SS Peter Mooney, LF D.J. Leonard and RF Larry Walicki had RBI singles. 1B Dan Scheffler drove in a run as well with a sac-fly to give PBCC. a 4-1 lead.

Broward came fighting back in the sixth as SS Yasel Gomez grounded in to a double-play, as 2B Sharad Johnson scored to cut the lead in half (4-2).

The most controversial moment of the game came right after that as Petibon came back to the plate a blasted a moon shot towards left field, as he was rounding the bases and started trotting to third the umpire called a foul ball. The entire team was irate! Coach Deutchman came real close to being ejected. Petibon's foul ball could've tied the game and gave Broward a burst of momentum.

I was sitting between home plate and first and from my angle, (which doesn't mean jack shit) that ball looked pretty fair to me. In fact, I don't even think it was that close. Bad call by the umps.

The Seahawks we're deflated after that. Palm Beach tacked four more in the seventh to take a 8-2 lead. Broward put two more in the seventh and eighth, but it wasn't enough. Final Score PBCC. 8, BC 4.

Palm Beach's RHP Sean Koecheler was the winning pitcher, tossing six innings of two-hit ball allowing only two runs. Broward's RHP Robbie Scott, who pitched 6.3 innings, gave up six hits and four earned runs, took the "L".

Broward displayed no offense whatsoever as they only had three hits in the entire game! A historical season has now hit the turn for the worst. If the boys in blue plan to revive this season to win States or let alone win this playoff series, they cannot lose a single game for the rest of the season! Their backs are against the wall, It's win or go home for the bluebirds!

Game two will be tomorrow at Palm Beach CC. at 4 pm. If the Seahawks pull through then we will have a pivotal do-or-die Game 3 Thursday night (possibly a night game at 6pm.).

BROWARD SWEEPS BREVARD IN SEASON FINALE, CLINCHES SECOND PLACE

There wasn't much the Seahawks could do after being swept by Miami-Dade College, especially after MDC beat Indian River on April 16 to clinch the Southern Conference regular season title.

Their last regular season series didn't matter.

Although the Seahawks clinched second place and can't move up any higher in the standings, they sure played like there was something at stake.

The blue birds out-slugged the other blue team, Brevard CC. (6-16, 11-28 overall), 11-9 at home in front of their fellow alumni, who were invited to see the game which was catered by Scrubbys BBQ (I'm dropping plugs!).

Freshman catcher Daniel Petibon belted two homers to lead the way.

Overall the hitting was great. Pitching was questionable. One thing I did notice though is that the team has committed way too many errors in their past few games. They slipped up six times against Brevard, which caused 5+ runs.

This isn't the first time that the Seahawks have caused that many errors, they recorded six errors as well versus Dade last week which caused MDC to creep back and steal one from Broward.

They need that Tom Emanski instructional videos or something (It has to be good, it's endorsed by Fred McGriff and his hat).

Broward got lucky against Brevard in the first game .They can't keep winning with all these errors, it'll catch up with them.

The second game of the series wasn't even close, the boys in blue caught Brevard sleeping in the season finale. Too bad the Seahawks won't be able to play another game until the end of the month, Petibon, who was 3 for 3, stayed hot as he belted another dinger to lead the team past the Tigers 12-2.

And now we play the waiting game...

With the regular season over, the Seahawks must wait until April 27 for the fourth place team (either Indian River or Brevard) to duke it out with Palm Beach CC., the third place team.

The winner of that game will play Broward in a best-of-three series, which will start the following day (April 28). Games 1 and 3 (if necessary) will be at home in Central Campus. Start time has yet to be decided.

This team is special, and if they can eliminate the errors/jitters, they can cause some damage at States. The team needs you now more than ever so come show your support on April 28.

JAZZ VS. LAKERS.

It's that time of the year again. The Lake show is back! This time with one new addition, Andrew Bynum. The Lakers could have used him last season. Now everyone will see what a difference that young fella (yeah I said fella) can make. This series won't be even close.

HORNETS VS. NUGGETS

I think this is the most intriguing first round matchup in the entire. Both teams split the season series. Its practically a coin toss. Who will be the best player on the court? 'Melo or CP3? I think the Nuggets will finally get past their first round slump. Hornets have been too inconsistant.

MAVS VS. SPURS

I would pick the Spurs to cruise past the Mavs in any normal series. This won't be any normal series. Ginobili is hurt. On Dallas' side, J. Kidd is finally making some shots. The Pistons don't even have a winning record, and well, the Cavs have been on fire at home. I remember the roles was opposite a few years ago, Detroit was the powerhouse and Cleveland was the up-and-comer. This one is too easy, do I even have to tell you who am I going for? Pistons won't win a game.

Now this series just got a little interesting. Now that Doc Rivers has gone out and publicly told the entire league that they'll be with out Garnett, anything is possible. The Bulls are just now getting healthy and have slightly formed a little inside presence with Brad Miller. Derrick Rose, welcome to the playoffs. At the end of the day the Garnettless Celtics can still get past the first round.

SIXERS VS. MAGIC

I love this Philadelphia team. They're young, quick, full of energy. I really like Iguadala but I don't think it's their time yet. As a matter of fact, this is D. Howard's time to shine. He has become part of a respectable league in the East, let alone the whole league. No one from Philly can guard him.

HEAT VS. HAWKS

There's no way any team in the league can sleep on the Hawks, not after what they put Boston through. This team causes matchup problems from guard to center. But at the same time there's a guy in Miami by the name Dwyane Wade who causes an entire team a problem. The best player on the court will usually win.

MIAMI-DADE HAS MENTAL EDGE OVER BROWARD IN BASEBALL

Is this really a rivalry? Even when the season series is lobsided?

I think it's safe to say that Miami-Dade has Broward College's number in baseball. Even Seahawks coach Bob Deutschman once admitted that it was originally a mental issue when Broward squares off against Dade. he claims that the team was over that stage.

He was right about it being mental, but wrong about the Broward Seahawks being over that hump.

All the Seahawks had to do was win out and they would be awarded a first-round bye as the Southern Conference Champs. Easier said then done.

In fact, the boys in blue didn't even win one out of the two meetings as they were swept again to Miami-Dade College.

Don't get me wrong it was close.

It was wild a back and forth affair in the first duel, the Seahawks had a one-run lead until the eighth inning when the MDC Sharks tied it up. As if the tension couldn't get any higher, the umpire paused the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs because of lightning.

There was no doubt that the 20 minute delay affected the Broward pitching staff, when the game went to extras Miami-Dade took control and sealed the deal squeaking by Broward 10-9.

It's funny because the Seahawks are 8-3 in one-run games. All three losses have come against Dade.

All of the drama could've been prevented though.

I dont care if you're the best team in MLB, there is no way in hell that you can win a game that you commited six errors. SIX ERRORS!

To me that just shows you that Broward is clearly scared of the Sharks.

The next day Broward looked flat on the road against their rival as they lost 9-6.

With the loss Miami-Dade (16-4, 36-7 overall) moved up to first in the SoCon standings and the Seahawks (15-7, 29-13 overall) sunk to second place.

Dade is set to finish the season this weekend with four games, two against Indian River State College (4-16, 16-23 overall) and two against Palm Beach CC. (11-11, 26-18 overall). Broward will wrap their regular season schedule in the next two day against Brevard CC (6-14, 11-26 overall).

Seven out of the Seahawks 13 overall losses have come against their fake rival Dade. As a matter of fact, Broward has only beaten MDC once this whole season! the games were close though.

It's a shame because this team took the Southern conference by storm early on, even being ranked first in the damn state and now their chances for a SoCon title seem slim, but that doesn't mean they can't make it to States though.

They just better hope they're not seeded in the same side of the bracket as MDC.

If Broward played MDC ten times, I think they would only win twice. Sad but kinda true.

So after all these years, I finally got to meet Broward College President J. David Armstrong.

He turns out to be a really cool dude.

Although we sometimes question his decisions, Mr. Armstrong seemed to be really down to earth, besides, how could you not like a guy who likes his baseball (or softball in this case)?

I think he'll be at the final home games of the baseball and softball teams, which the school is set to give out a free hat and free food at both games.

The prez gave the the Lady Seahawks (9-22 overall, 2-13 in the conference) a pregame speech, the sort of cliche speech you movies. I wouldn't be surprised if he said, "win one for the big gipper".

Well...the speech may have actually worked. Despite losing game 1 of the doubleheader against Palm Beach CC. 3-2, they out-slugged them 10-9 in game 2.

This marked their second conference win so far in the entire season! Someone pray for them.

There’s some good news and bad news for BC baseball, which one do you want first?

The good news is that the Seahawks are back in first place in the Southern Conference with three more wins than Miami-Dade College. Well, the bad news is that the Seahawks also have one more loss in the standings than MDC.

Oh yeah, Broward has also slipped to fourth in the state polls.

But that’s okay. They’ve played four more games than Dade, which means the Sharks (MDC) will have to be 4-0 in their next four games to over take Broward.

The boys in blue swept a two-game series with Indian River State College on April 7 and 8, but then split their next two-game series with Palm Beach CC on April 10-11.

Don’t get me wrong, PBCC isn’t a pushover team at all, they just sit in third place in the Southern Conference behind two of the top 15 teams in the nation (BC and MDC).

The boys in blue actually looked pretty blue against PBCC, as they barely got past them in the first game 10-9 in a ten-inning affair. With that win BC improved to 8-2 in games decided by one run.

It looked like they ran out of runs to score after their ten-run effort the previous night as the Seahawks fell short to the Panthers (PBCC) 5-3 on Saturday.

Broward has four games remaining including two HUGE games this week against Dade on April 14-15. The Sharks have six games left on the slate.

The ’72 Dolphins can finally pop their champagnes as the Marlins lose to the ~~Washed-up Marlins~~ Mets 8-4.
On a good note though, the Marlins drew an attendance of 39,412 (Most since ’97), but not because they’re undefeated, but because rappers Flo Rida and Pitbull performed after the game.
Tiger won’t win the ~~Tiger Woods Invitational~~ Masters this year. He is seven strokes back in the last day.
The Red Sox must have the ugliest road jerseys ever…well, at least compared to their old one.
The magic number for the Heat to clinch the fifth seed is 2, with only 3 games to go (shaking my head).
We are less than a week before the NFL Draft, which means we won’t have to hear draft-talk until Week 8 of the ’09 season.

It was pure excitement.

The Broward baseball team jumped for joy in the locker room when they first learned that they were ranked first in the state, edging out rival Miami-Dade College.

“We’re finally being viewed as one of the top programs in Florida” said sophomore pitcher Joe Mata.

They held their spot strong in the poll for three weeks before MDC recently flip-flopped their spots, leaving Broward at a close second.

But the players aren’t concerned about that, they believe that the only standings that matter are the conference standings.

The Seahawks (12-4, 26-10 overall) are now tied with MDC (12-4, 32-7 overall) for first with four games to go. Broward is ranked thirteenth in the nation, while Dade, ranked fifth, has a little more respect from the national polls.

Both teams have identical records, identical amount of games left and against identical opponents.

Something’s got to give.

If they come out ahead of MDC at the end of the season, they will be awarded a first round bye in the Southern Conference Tournament which starts from April 27 and ends on April 30.

“It’s played out as I exactly expected,” said Seahawks skipper Bob Deutschman, who feels that his team is right there in the thick of things at the final stretch of the season.

Out of those seven games remaining, the Seahawks will slug it out with MDC two more times, one at home then one away.

A first round bye could be critical in one of the toughest conferences in the nation. The Southern Conference is one of the few conferences in the state, let alone the country that has two out of the three nationally-ranked squads in the state.

Although they kept the last two games against MDC close, the boys in blue have only managed to outlast Dade once out of their six meetings.

“Up until this last series it was a bit mental with us,” said Deutschman.

He does admit that being swept by MDC in their first couple of series may have been mental, but says that his team has now overcome that.

“They’re good, but we’ve got Dade twice into our style of play which is low scoring,” said Deutschman, who later on uses a basketball term. “We cannot run with them, we have to play a very slow, methodical type of game which is what we did [recently].”

If they manage to keep their games close, they should be in good shape. The Seahawks are 7-2 in games decided by one run.

Despite gaining interest from the national polls, some players still feel like there are still doubters out there.

“We work hard because we don’t have the big name players like everyone else has and we come to the field everyday to get better because we know we have something to prove to everybody else because people still doubt us,” said Third Baseman Patrick Donahue, who is batting .344 with 16 Runs batted in.

Even though both teams are in a tight-lock race, the Seahawks shouldn’t overlook Brevard CC., who they face to finish off the regular season.

Brevard (5-10, 10-22 overall), is one of the weaker teams in the Southern Conference. Brevard gave the Seahawks a hard time last time they met, scoring 17 runs on Broward as they split both meetings.

“We just got to keep playing our style of game. Keep the game close and let someone get that big hit,” said Mata, who is 2-0 with a 1.87 ERA. “That seems to be the winning formula for us this season.”

BROWARD COLLEGE CUTS TENNIS PROGRAM

Apparently, there were not enough players to continue the rich tradition of the tennis team, so the school has called a time out, for now.

The one program that has hoisted four out of the school’s eight NJCAA National Championship Titles, including the last four (1996, 2003, 2004, 2006) have been terminated until further notice.

“We couldn’t meet those recruiting obligations in order to play at the level that we were playing,” said Intercollegiate Athletic Coordinator John Giordano.

According to Giordano, the school felt women’s tennis had the least interest in Broward College compared to the other three women’s sports (Basketball, Softball and Volleyball).

“I don’t want any program to leave,” said Giordano. “We would love to keep all of our programs…programs that can be representative and hopefully successful… [these] are the three [sports] that can certainly draw a greater interest right now”.

Although the program is gone for now, there may always be a possibility for the school to have their own tennis team once again.

If that ever happens, it will be after 2010.

“As of today we are not planning on playing next year and I don’t know what will happen beyond that,” said Giordano.

As a result, the tennis program will leave behind six full scholarships up for grabs. The Athletic Program will distribute the six scholarships evenly to the three remaining women’s sport (Basketball, Softball and Volleyball) at two scholarships a piece.

These scholarships will not take effect until the 2009 fall term.

The Lady Seahawks sports teams have struggled significantly this year. All three squads have combined to post a 20-51 overall record, 14 of those wins coming from volleyball.

Two extra scholarships can possibly be the difference of turning the three remaining sports around to become contenders.

With tennis now gone, the Athletic Department had to bid farewell to coach Oscar Ortega who worked part-time for the school.

He coached the Lady Seahawks tennis team for one season in 2008, as the ladies went 2-7 in his rookie year.

“He was disappointed, I’ll be honest with you, but we were both disappointed but that was the decision and he understood it,” said Giordano.

The school still has hopes of using their tennis facility at central campus one day for an intercollegiate team.

WBC DEBACLE: WHAT TEAM USA COULD HAVE REALLY LOOKED LIKE

We all saw it coming, right? I mean, did we really expect this team to win it all? The USA Baseball team had no firepower compared to the Japs.

But I wont blame it on the format or even the schedule and how the World Baseball Classic should be moved to another time.

C'mon, that's weak!

Where were all of our premier players at? We did the same thing Team USA Basketball did in the 2004 Olympics...we sent in the "B" Team. That's not fair to our country and to our fans. But do we really care?

The thing about Americans and competitions like this (ie: Tour de France) is that we won't care about the damn thing unless were in first place. And when we are in first place, best believe we will brag until the end of time.

I just hope this World Baseball Classic picks up here in the States and the USA Baseball organization wakes up and smell the roses. Until then, I am stuck with an all Asian WBC Final. Sheesh.

BROWARD BASEBALL STAYS HOT!

Trust me If the Broward College Baseball club were underperforming, I'd be the first one to let you know. But right now they're far from pretenders.

The boys in blue are red hot right now. They've won 12 out of their last 14, defeating Palm Beach CC. 4-3 in extra innings to improve their Southern Conference record to 9-1, 23-7 overall.

Sophomore pitcher Daniel Kern (4-1) lead the team with four shutout innings with six strikeouts, but the hero of the night was 1B Kile Wilson, who sealed the deal with a dramatic walk-off double in the bottom of the 12.

As to make things better, the Seahawks have just been ranked tenth nationally as of the March 18 NJCAA Coaches Poll. Unfortunately, the poll still has Miami Dade College ranked ahead of Broward at number seven despite the Seahawks still being ranked first overall in the state of Florida.

UPDATE: Broward kept things rolling as they took care of Palm Beach CC. again on Saturday 6-1. Sophomore pitcher Robbie Scott (4-1) tossed six innings of one-run ball as freshman Andrew Gianino racked his second save of the season.

See. This is what I get. I let my UM fan guard down for one game and the stupid Seminoles screw me over. They lost in OT to Wisconsin. I guess that's payback for the football team crushing Wisconsin in the Champs Sports Bowl this year. It's okay, I'm still 25-7 with my bracket.

WHY AM I CHEERING FOR FSU?

I am an UM fan. I should be programmed to hate Florida and Florida State in any sport (especially football). So why do I find myself rooting for the Seminole in the NCAA Tourney?

It feels so weird, I've been a die-hard UM fan all my life. I've always hated the Noles, even in basketball.

I guess this year is different.

Maybe it's because there are no Florida teams in the big dance except for FSU, so I end up getting stuck with them no matter what.

But wait. Leonard Hamilton, former UM basketball coach, is coaching this squad so that could help me make more sense out of this. Hamilton took UM to three NCAA tournaments.

I guess that can be the case, but what's really convincing me to like this group is the solid play of senior guard Toney Douglas (photo above) who has averaged over 21 points per contest.

I just received an e-mail from the school pertaining a possibly website makeover. It gave me a link with a sneak peak of the new look and I'm not sure if I like this whole new look.

If I were to critique this possible look...it looks like a "Broward College for dummies" website now.

With this possibility of this new website change, this may be a sign of better sports coverage on the way. Let's just hope so. But until then you will be stuck with me. Sorry. >=)

BASEBALL TEAM STILL RANKED FIRST DESPITE 5 GAME WINNING STREAK OVER

The streak is over. After winning five straight games and ten out of their last eleven, the Broward Seahawks baseball team suffers their first loss since March 4 to Miami-Dade College.

The defeat came at the hands of Erie CC. out of Buffalo 4-2 despite OF Kyle Wilson's home run. Andrew Gianino is credited with the loss, his first of the season.

Despite the loss dropping the Seahawks to 21-7, Broward is still ranked firstin the state (for the second consecutive week) as of the March 17 FCCAA coaches' poll receiving 16 first place votes. Miami Dade (22-6) are right on their backs at second place.

SEAHWKS BASEBALL KEEP ON WINNING, BUT GETS NO LOVE FROM NJCAA

Can someone in the NJCAA committee get the Broward Seahawks baseball team nationally ranked? They're on fire right now, having just swept Brevard College in a two game home-home series maintaining their number one ranking in the state.

Brevard kept it a little close in the first game as the Seahawks out performed them 7-4. Freshman pitcher Rob Matthews recorded his first win of the season as Mata shut the game down with his third save. INF Patrick Donahue recorded two hits as OF Kyle Wilson drove in three runs.

The second game against Brevard was a breeze. The boys in blue took it 7-2. Another freshman pitcher, this time Damian Seguen with his third win of the season. Righty Daniel Kern sealed the deal in the ninth with his fourth save as 2B Sharad Johnson had two hits, including a triple. OF Xavier Feliciano really showcased his skills with two hits, including a homer.

Broward improves their record to 21-6, and 7-1 in the conference, two games ahead of Miami-Dade College for first.

They're back home tonight against Erie CC. (Buffalo), first pitch set at 6 PM.

6 OVERTIME GAME: NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL

So it was the second longest game in NCAA basketball history. Some are calling it an epic. So what!

Yeah, I watched that Syracuse vs. UConn game last night and I didn't fall asleep through it either.

Great game. But not one of the greatest games of all time.

Before I go on to tell you why, I want to also let you know that those kids left everything they had on that court. To play a full game and six overtime periods is far from impressive.

But that game was sloppy, it was like watching a 90-year-old Evander Hollyfield boxing match. Those overtime sessions could have been prevented. We had players missing dunks, eight players get fouled out. Give me a break.

All I'm saying is; just because a game goes to overtime (or in this case six overtimes), it does not mean that it is a classic.

These sports analysts get way too hyped at games like this. It was a good game, maybe one of the top 3 NCAA basketball games of the year, but not an instant classic.

SEAHAWKS ARE RANKED NUMBER ONE IN THE STATE

Despite not being ranked nationally and have only defeated Miami-Dade (21-6 overall, 3-3 conference) once out of four times this season, the Seahawks Baseball team are ranked first in the FCCAA top ten poll.

Ironically Dade is ranked seventh in the nation.

The Seahawks have recently won eight out of their last nine games and are sitting in first place in the Southern Conference with a 5-1 record and have a 19-6 overall mark.

The boys in blue look to stretch their conference lead against Brevard CC. at home tonight (Thurs.) at 6PM and tomorrow (Fri) at 1PM.

NEXT YEAR'S TEAM CAN BE DANGEROUS IF THE FRESHMEN STAY

This is a story of eight strangers, picked to play on the hardwood. This may sound like “The Real World,” but in fact that’s what Men’s Basketball Coach Robert Starkman had to work with this season.

He had all but three sophomores returning this season as he welcomed in eight freshmen.

With most teams, having that many freshmen could’ve been a sign of a decline but for part-time coach Starkman, he took lemon and made lemonade. He took a group full of freshmen and soared their way in to the state tourney for the second year in a row.

Their play-in game to advance to the States was far from calm. The Seahawks were trailing Indian River State College by as many as 20 points early on but the diaper dandies pulled off a miraculous comeback, one to go down in school history as they edged IRSC 73-68.

“Every win is gratifying, but this one is good because it’s our second back to back conference tournament championship,” said Starkman after the game. “That’s our fourth kind of championship in eight years, especially now since they were going to remove the program and to come and win something says a lot.”

“It was a dream come true. This is what we worked for all season,” said sophomore Eric

The Seahawks went on to be eliminated in the quarterfinals in a nail biter to Central Florida Community College. 77-74. Regardless of the outcome of the last game, this young team grew up and matured right in front of their fans.

It looks as if every player that Starkman has taken under his wing has played beyond their expectations and it was no difference for this set of players.

Even though the records aren’t better, you could argue that the 2009 Seahawks out-performed the 2008 squad that went 23-8.

Both were crowned Southern Conference Tournament champs and despite going 15-11 this season, five of their losses were credited to forfeits. So in actuality this season’s team should’ve been 20-6, not to mention a better conference record as well.

“They worked hard, that’s all I asked them to do,” said Starkman.

Every superior team goes through their maturing stages. They learn from their mistakes. If these young players can do that, then they shouldn’t have a problem with any team next year.

Although he barely knows the game, center Kervin Bristol has the upside to score a double double, if not a triple-double every night, not to mention he can direct the paint with his shot-blocking abilities. He is a walking stat machine if he works hard.

Forward Devyn Erwin has the capability to control the momentum of a game whenever he wants with his highflying alley-oop dunks.

With his skills to read the floor and find the open man on every possession can give point guard Ryan Davis the chance to become the floor general of this troop.

Anton Fortunato is the scrappy player on this team. This guard is capable to out-hustle any player on the hardwood with his steals and ability to draw fouls.

Not only can David Brown become the team’s leading scorer, he has the potential to spoil any opponents’ party with his daggering three-pointers. He could very well become the nation’s leading three-point shooter if he stays poised.

Although the season is over this team has the potential to become serious national contenders if each freshmen returns next season.

Broward College Soars to States

"It's a whole new season," said Seahawks Coach Robert Starkman after clinching a spot to the FCCAA State Tournament.

The Seahawks had to play a playoff game against Indian River on Tuesday who were fresh off a win against Brevard.

Right off the bat things did not look so good, Indian River opened up to a 26-6 lead. But the Seahawks were resilient as they cut the lead to six at the half (33-39).

At that point it was anybodies game. As the second half began, Indian River looked completly flustered from the comeback. Broward knotted things up at 45 and took the lead later on.

Although Indian River kept it real close, Broward squeaked by with a 73-68 win.

David Brown racked up 15 points and 5 steals. Anton Fortunato 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Ryan Davis also put up 12 points.

With the win Broward will face the Mid Florida Conference Champions Central Florida in a quarterfinal match. Winner advances to semis.

The Seahawks edged out Central Florida on Dec. 13 at the JUCO Shootout by three points and look to do the same next Thursday.

The Future is Now for Seahawks Baseball!

If lack of experience was the reason why the Men’s Baseball team did not go further in States last season, then there are no excuses this year.

They have the experience. A whopping 17 players out of their 25 are sophomores, more sophomores than last season.

Coach Bob Deutschman led the Baseball team to the Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA) Tournament with an impressive 32-18 record. Deutschman is in his seventh season as the Seahawks’ skipper, has won a state title in 2006 and has guided the program to FCCAA Tournament four out of his past six seasons.

Before we go any further let’s keep in mind that Broward had two players, Chad Rose and Tito Espinosa, which were selected in the 2008 MLB Draft.

It may be too early to even distinguish if we may have that kind of talent, but at the same time you don’t really need a potential minor-leaguer on your squad to play at a high caliber level. There’s no need for a superstar, they just need to play as a team.

So the question remains, are the Seahawks really better off than they were last year?

If so, they’re off to a superior start.

After dropping their season-opener to Manatee CC., the Seahawks out-slugged and out-pitched their opposition, winning four consecutive games, including sweeping Seminole CC. The Seahawks outscored their competition 31-13 in this four game stretch.

Now they’re currently on another four-game streak, improving their record to 9-3. Right now they have a better overall record than any team in their entire conference. Miami-Dade is the closest team with a 6-3 record.

Sophomore pitcher Ryan Whelan has been pitching stellar. He has already racked up two wins including an outstanding six innings of shutout ball against Palm Beach CC.

Jose Mata, another sophomore pitcher, has played just as stellar as Whelan as he has successfully closed two games, including their latest game against Florida Memorial University.

If that isn’t a sign of progress, then maybe being ranked seventh overall in the state poll is.

The chemistry is there, but the work isn’t done.

Far from it.

The season is still extremely young. There are still 33 games left on the slate, including seven games against rival Miami-Dade which could decide the fate of the Southern Conference.

There are no excuses for this team not to be among the state’s elite.

St. Petersburg 6, Broward 3

The Broward College Baseball team were on a six game winning streak before this loss before they lost a heart-breaking game on Monday.

The game was all knotted up at 3-3 and was forced to go to extra innings. In the top of the tenth inning St. Petersburg College blasted in three runs to seal the deal. Pitcher Daniel Kern (2-1) was credited with the loss.

With the loss the Seahawks drop to 11-4

The Seahawks will go on the road today to face off against Miami-Dade College. Both teams have 11 wins but Broward has already suffered a 12-1 shalacking from Dade. First pitch is set at 3 P.M.

BC Playoff Game Announced for Tuesday Night

Its official. The Broward College Men's Hoops team are one game away from States.

With Miami-Dade already securing first place, there are three teams fighting for the final spot.

The winner of the Indian River vs. Brevard CC. (3rd place vs. 4th place) game tonight will face off against the Broward Seahawks Tuesday night.

Brevard is 3-9 so barring a miracle win by them, the Seahawks will likely face Indian River State College for the last playoff spot in the Southern Conference.

It will be a home game for Broward but it is yet to be known which campus will host the play-in game. Central Campus has intramural basketball that night so it is likely that the game will be at North Campus at 7 P.M.

Broward 60, Indian River 52

After losing their two previous games, the Seahawks Men's Basketball team finish heir last regular season game with a huge victory. The road warriors traveled to Fort Pierce to outlast Indian River State College 60-52.

The Seahawks proved once again that playing as a team always prospers. Four players were in double figures including guard Anton Fortunato who racked up 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals. Forward Or Shaltiel put up 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Freshman guard from Queens, NY. Ryan Davis led the team with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.

With the win the Seahawks finish the season in second place in the Southern Conference at 7-5 with an overall record of 14-11 (could've been 20-5 if it was not for their forfeited games).

The top two teams in the Conference will go to the FCCAA State Tournament. Although Indian River is in third place in their conference at 6-6, it is still uncertain if there will be a playoff game for the last spot in the State Tournament. If thats the case a game will be played either Monday Feb. 23 or Tuesday Feb. 24.

Men's Hoops Team Forfeits 5 Games

One day you’re the states Men’s Player of the week for the Seahawks basketball team and the next day all your dreams are gone and you’re working for UPS in New York.

That’s what happened to former freshman big man Earl Mills, who was stripped of his scholarship and eligibility after the Athletic Department found out he attended at least one more school before becoming a Seahawk.

According to the collegiate rules, a player must sit out at least a year before becoming eligible to play again as an athlete.

“There was no way that we would have known it,” said Athletic Coordinator John Giordano.

How big was this loss? Well, the team had to forfeit five games due to this error. Instead of being 16-3 and possibly first in their conference, they have dropped to third place in the conference to 11-8 with a possibly to miss out on the playoffs.

According to the Seahawks Baseball Coach Bob Deutschman, who is in charge of checking each player’s eligibility, the 6-foot-7 forward was suspended “indefinitely” and will not be eligible to play in any college in the country.

Deutschman only knows of one college that Mills attended before transferring to Broward College.

“It was an isolated, unusual situation,” said Deutschman. “You are only as intelligent as the information given to you and we have a certain process that we go through to try to achieve that information to the best of our ability but if a player hides an institution he attended there is no way to verify that,”

Although Deutschman claims that this was a rare occasion, Men’s Basketball Coach Robert Starkman disagrees.

“It should never happen,” said Starkman.

“It’s not a rare mistake because if I am correct it happened to the volleyball team too.”

During the fall, The Seahawks Volleyball team were one game short of the playoffs due to an “clerical error”.

According to Mills, he left his former school because of the environment, claiming that his former teammates would steal things from each other. He didn’t think it would be a problem if he didn’t list the schools he attended in his past to the school.

“It wasn’t on purpose and it wasn’t on accident,” said Mills about mentioning his previous school’s attended on his registration. “I didn’t think it really mattered”.

His contribution was very important to the team, especially in the beginning of the season where he was named FCCAA Men’s player of the week, averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds during the opening week of the season.

With Mills, the Seahawks merely had one loss, since his departure the squad has already dropped 2 games in a four-game span.

He was last seen at the Jan. 16 game against Miami-Dade where he claims he had a “player-only” meeting to apologize for his actions.

Mills is now back in New York working at UPS. He has refused to give up his dreams of playing ball and is still working on his game for a second chance.

“I’ll take it as it is,” said Mills.

R.I.P. Shayla Llanos

Freshman Shayla Llanos played lights out. Nothing could stop the 5-foot-4 floor general that night. She racked up 20 points, six assists, eight rebounds and five steals with approximately three minutes left, a career game.

“The next thing you know I ran to the court and she crumbled to the ground,” said first year head coach Mike Schawe.

Paramedics came and everything appeared to be fine. The officials chose to finish out the final minutes.

Sophomore forward Tierra Allen was driving home after a suspenseful night, the entire team thought that Llanos was fine until she received a call that she and the rest of her teammates will never forget.

“When I found out, I basically screamed,” said Allen.

Just like that in disbelief, on Dec. 29, two days before New Year’s Eve, Allen and the entire college community lost Shay.

When Llanos reached the hospital she went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead. Documents from the Broward County Medical Examiner office weren’t available immediately but according to Broward medical examiner's office investigator, Wendy Crane, the cause of Llanos’ death was sequelae anomalous of the left coronary artery. Asthma was also a contributing cause.

A tragedy like this was a first for the school.

“I heard that on the way to the hospital in the ambulance she told everybody that she was okay and breathing and everything. I went [to Westside Regional Medical Center] an hour later and she passed away. It was horrible, a horrific loss,” said Schawe.

Llanos, 19 passed away doing what she loved the most, playing the game of basketball.
“She was the only person I knew that loved basketball so much. That was the only thing she wanted to do was play basketball,” said freshman forward Jennifer Hillmon
Playing basketball was Shayla Llanos’ first love but her sweetness and her sense of humor was her next love.

Hillmon points out that she will never forget the times where Llanos and the teammates would joke around in the team’s apartment and make funny music videos every time they had the chance. Her funny side was never concealed.
“She never cursed or drank or anything, she just had fun without doing anything crazy,” said Allen, who was a close, dear friend of Llanos.

Recording music videos was just one of the few things Llanos enjoyed doing. The 19-year-old cherished collecting Jordan sneakers, she also loved to take photos with her digital camera. Although some of the teammates at first weren’t comfortable with Llanos’ camera-friendly side, they began to accept it and now they will always cherish the photos they have with her.

According to her teammates, Shay was always there for others. Despite being a freshman she was the team leader, constantly picking up her teammates when they were down.

“Shay will be remembered for her determination. She was always dedicated and ready to go out there and work hard and ball,” said Hillmon.

“I’d never forget the first time she had her asthma attack, it was the second day of practice when we first started the season,” said Allen. “That really scared me, but then Jennifer [Hillmon] and I just took care of her and brought her machine everywhere. She would always call me ‘mom’ and that was something I would never forget.”

Llanos played high school ball in her hometown of Salem, New Jersey where she was named 2008 Player of the Year, scoring over 1,000 points in her four-year high school career.

Shay wanted to play NCAA basketball. Although she had excellent grades in high school, she was listed as a non-qualifier because she didn’t test well. This caused her to become a Seahawk.

She was just beginning to find her groove as a freshman. In fact, she recently won FCCAA Women’s Basketball player of the week, averaging a little over 20 points a game, about three rebounds, three assists and three steals in a four-game span.

“She was heading toward being a Division-I prospect. She was definitely a Division-II prospect any way, Barry [University] was looking at her,” said Schawe.

Schawe left it up to the players to decide on the future of the team. In the end, they chose to play the last game of the three-game holiday tournament on Jan. 3.

The school held a pre-game ceremony and had a moment of silence on her behalf. Following that game the team held a memorial service to honor her. Llanos’ funeral was held Jan. 8 in Salem, NJ. The school was represented by Assistant Coach Kevin Johnson. Win or lose the players have agreed to finish out the remainder of the season, dedicating it to Shay.

“We dedicated everything for her, even if we don’t want to play,” said freshman guard Jaclyn O’Connor. “She gave 110 percent to us so we need to do the same for her.”

During warm-ups, the players now wear a shirt that says, “We Play 4 Shay” and during the games a number four is now placed on the top-right corner of the front of every player’s jersey.

According to coach Schawe, BC will place her in the school’s Hall of Fame. They will also change the name of their annual holiday tournament to honor her.

Although Shay was the smallest player on the hardwood, she played like a giant. For that and the way she carried her life as a Seahawk, Llanos’ legacy will never be forgotten.

Supposedly Miller Brewing Company are set to have a one second ad to prove that they dont need a full minute to sell their product. Here's the catch, the ad is actually about a minute long with a series of one second snippets.

The Actual Game

Allright, lets get to the actual game. I see all of these analysts are pretty one-sided with their predictions. Everything seems to be pointing towards a Steeler victory. Their number one ranked defense is no match for the Cards is what I hear on TV.

Newsflash- have we forgotten that the Steelers offense hasn't been playing great all season. Now I know the Cardinals defense wasnt great themselves this season but they have really flipped the switch during the playoffs.

I feel as if it's all about who's the hottest team in the postseason.

We've seen the Giants streak last year with Eli. No one expected him to win all of those games on the road.

We've seen the Colts defense turn it up in 2007 postseason, no one could've imagined that either.

The list goes on. This is why I am siding this year with the Cardinals. If you want a score I'll give you Steelers 21, Cardinals 27. Kurt Warner will hoist his second Lombardi trophy with two different teams, not to mention I like him to win the MVP as well.

Now the Cards are finally who we thought they were! And we're gonna crown their ass

Okay. So here is a little more about me:

I'm the Sports Editor of the Broward College newspaper, The Observer. I'm a random guy. I like sneakers (I have over 60 pairs) but i try to dress casual too. I'm trying to get out of there to possibly go to FIU. I love music. I used to DJ a lot but now I'm trying to get the hell up out of BC because I swear it's a trap school. I was a grade C athlete during my high school years. I always love the games I was part of but I was never blessed by god with those skills like some of these people we see on TV today.

Its ironic, I don't really like to write, but I'm giving this bloggin' thing a try. I have a lot on my mind. Mostly sports. Plenty of random funny shit/experiences. If you go to Broward College, you're going to get local stuff. You'll get some life stuff, sex, liquor, music, global stuff etc...
